Australia’s finest electronic export, Dom Dolla, has just unleashed his first official single for 2024: Girl$

While officially released today as of June 7th, EDM fanatics who were able to make it to Coachella and EDC Las Vegas this year were able to get introduced to the new club track early.

Fan videos of the song being played live garnered over 46 million views in the lead-up to the official release, inflating the hype to a level where the artist’s page has received over a million streams as of midday.

Dolla spread the word about the new track online on Tuesday (June 4th) with the caption:

“So excited to finally have this one ready to go”.

The artist continued, letting us in on the club track’s origins: “girl$ was inspired by a conversation I had with some friends who were all tired of bad dates… and had eventually come to the conclusion they were giving up on the whole charade. I wrote the lyrics based upon a story a mate relayed to me about a wild night out she had.”

“I recorded it and heavily affected my vocals, but felt it needed a strong female performance, so I reached out to my good pal Caitlin Stubbs and asked if she was keen to re-perform the vocal, her voice is fantastic and suits the record so well… I even left some crumbs of my vocal in there, too.”

In a press release, he added: “I hope you all enjoy the record as much as I enjoyed making it.”

To all the Australian fans who want to hear this new anthemic banger live, Dolla will be touring Australia at the end of 2024, hyping up venues such as Riverstage in Brisbane, Flemington Racecourse in Melbourne, The Domain in Sydney, and Wellington Square in Perth.
