Allday Announces Huge 'The Necklace' National Tour

It’s Allday season, everyone. The Aussie rapper is preparing to release his fifth album later this year and will release a collaborative banger featuring Cub Sport later today.

Allday will release his latest album, The Necklace, via Dew Process on Friday, 2 August. A tour will support the new LP, announced today, which begins at Adelaide’s The Gov on Friday, 23 August. He then travels to Perth’s Magnet House (Saturday, 24 August), Melbourne’s 170 Russell (Friday, 30 August), Sydney’s Liberty Hall (Saturday, 31 August), and ends at Brisbane’s Princess Theatre on Saturday, 7 September.

Tickets to Allday’s forthcoming Australian tour go on sale at 9 am AEST on Monday, 20 May, via the rapper’s website.

On The Necklace, Allday reunited with producer Simon Lam, with whom he’s worked frequently since 2019’s Starry Night Over The Phone album. The Necklace will find Allday returning to rap music, with the artist admitting that he “fell back in love with the fun side” of the genre.

This afternoon, Allday will release the third single from The Necklace, Miss You Still, which features Cub Sport and interpolates the Ben Lee classic, Cigarettes Will Kill You. The new track follows the previously released singles Drip Drop and Access.

In a statement, Allday said about his new track, “I’d always loved that song [Cigarettes Will Kill You]; I’ve always loved the piano. I think people will just like the piano, even if they haven’t heard the original song. [Ben Lee] was cool with it. I’ve known everyone from Cub Sport since 2012 or 2013, so that is a cool friendship.”

On the interpolation of his song for Miss You Still, Ben Lee added, “I’ve always been inspired by artists who sit in their own space, carving out their own territory, beyond competition because they are playing their own game.

“Allday is that type of artist, and I’m honoured he sampled Ciggys and made it his own. It’s so cool. And Cub Sport on the track, too! Top day for me. Proud to be associated with this current wave of cutting-edge Aussie artists who are in the process of taking over the world!”
