More Fred Again.. More Fred Again..

UK record producer, singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, DJ, and puppet master Fred again.. has again sent Sydney into a frenzy overnight by throwing a last-minute pop-up show in Sydney’s favourite rave cave, Club 77.

It seemed that the chaos that had taken place earlier in the week was not enough for the cheeky muso, who revealed the news and a ticket link just hours before the event kicked off at the legendary Darlinghurst haunt at around 8:30 on Thursday night (Feb. 29).

Videos quickly began circulating of punters lining up down William Street ahead of the show, with Fred’s performance in the iconic 200-person capacity venue giving those lucky enough to have nabbed a highly sought-after ticket an up close and personal experience with the adore u hitmaker, who was joined by Aussies JOY (ANONYMOUS) for the epic set.

Of course, Fred’s latest shenanigans have once again reignited theories that he’s set to — quite literally — pop up at small, independent venues around the country throughout his sold-out Melbourne and Sydney arena shows.

It comes after Fred made it to Sydney (Eora) and performed a last-second show at the Opera House on Tuesday (February 27), finally bringing an end to weeks of teases, rumours and all kinds of cryptic conspiracy theorist bullshit. After that show sold out in seconds and went down a bloody treat, EDM’s answer to Taylor Swift followed it up with the news that he’d do a whole run of arena shows starting next week.

Unsurprisingly, all shows sold out in a matter of hours.

The arena “tour” consists of three back-to-back shows at Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne – slated for Monday, March 4, Tuesday 5 and Wednesday 6 – followed by a one-off pop-up gig at a secret location on the Gold Coast next Saturday (March 9), then another trio of back-to-back shows, this time at Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney, on Tuesday, March 12, Wednesday 13 and Thursday 14.

Tickets for the Melbourne shows went on sale at 9 am and were completely exhausted by 11 am. Gold Coast tickets followed at 10 am and went within an hour, and Sydney tickets lasted for a little over one hour when they went live at 1 pm.

For reference, Rod Laver Arena holds 14,820 punters and Qudos Bank Arena holds 21,000 – so on less than 12 hours of notice, Fred managed to sell 107,460 tickets for shows happening in just a few days... And that’s not even considering that mysterious Gold Coast show, the location for which is yet to be revealed — though it’s highly suspected to be held at Doug Jennings Park.

However, he had previously teased more yet-to-be-announced shows in an update to his Instagram Story posted yesterday (February 28), Fred cryptically wrote, “This is not the end...” and directed fans to a number they could call/text on WhatsApp: +1 917 810 3403.

Fred also recently noted on Instagram Stories that while in the land Down Under, he hoped to work with “small, independent” venues.
