NICK PES is back with another stellar song, ‘Under The Light’, and a slightly heart string pulling video clip to accompany it. This Sydney based producer, songwriter and singer is paving his path in the music world with golden bricks.

‘Under The Light’ has a beat and sound like someone is urgently running through city streets, trying to save someone or something. The track's tone sits somewhere between gloomy and motivating to find your way out from the dark and into the light.

This is reflected in the video, which has been directed by Josh Harris, and features Nick Pes himself. It begins with the view of a man lying on the ground, chained to a wall. He is trapped by the shadows, searching for the light. As he tries to fight back, and break free, the track builds more layers, developing the sound further as the man’s will to fight grows.

Some very deep and sexy sax comes into the track as the whole video takes a different angle, as though the man is falling through water even though he is still in the room. The sound then becomes warped, distorted as though under water.

Al the layers of the track come into one to create quite a powerful sound. Nick Pes has created some retro vibes, and while the track itself ends on a progressive note, the video ends with the same melancholy vibe it started with. It’s a confusing metaphor, showing how you can hide your own emotions from the world, but still be searching for the light inside.

‘Under The Light’ is out now on iTunes.
