Live Review: PREMIERE: Get a taste of what to expect on Lanks' upcoming tour with this live video of 'Comfortable'

13 July 2017 | 10:22 am | Emma Jones

If there's one thing LANKS can do, it's pull at your heartstrings through his songs. Always bound to amp up the emotions, he just has a knack of cutting to the core of you, and his latest single was no exception. Titled 'Comfortable,' Lanks further explored new territory while touching on a tender subject matter - mental health.

Written through the eyes of a close friend of his who works in the mental health industry, Lanks pairs twinkling keys, flurries of synths and crisp beats against his beautiful voice to paint an emotional picture. “Mental health is still an area we are learning how to approach and talk about, and it is not an easy job to just turn up to work for and then leave at the office. It is emotionally challenging... I wrote this song to remind her how selfless she is and was, helping someone else through such an incredibly hard time and shouldering so much of their struggles and despair. The ending was heartbreaking, but I wanted to focus on how great of a human she showed she was," he said.

Having released the single just a few weeks ago, and announcing a national tour along with it, it's fitting then that we get a glimpse at what we can expect on his next run around the country. This video we're premiering today was filmed at Hawthorn Arts Centre in February 2017, and shows the true brilliance that is Lanks - flanked by his band, seated at a piano, his natural talent is completely on display here, and we can't get enough. Catch Lanks around the country this August and September at the dates below. After watching this video, you'd be a fool to miss it!
