Ahead of his ENORMOUS Australia tour coming up in September, HAYDEN JAMES is doing a damn fine job at keeping all of us very happy indeed. Having just released the brand new visuals for his latest single, 'Just Friends' featuring BOY MATTHEWS, James once again has confirmed his place as one of the country's finest electronic artists.
With an undeniable groove and crisp synths, 'Just Friends' serves as the perfect antidote to the Australian winter, warming you up from the inside out with its infectiously upbeat vibes. Boy Matthews offers up catchy vocals, including a hook that is practically made for singalongs at James' shows. Encompassing his trademark meticulous approach to creating a dynamic tune that ebbs and flows in all the right places, Hayden James has delivered a song ready made for summer, and its accompanying visuals only make this stronger.
Following two people, the story unfolds in a "will they? Won't they?" tug-o-war as the pair decide if they are ready to take things to the next level or remain 'Just Friends'. Capturing this exciting time between two young lovers perfectly, the tension and uncertainty are palpable in this clip as things progress - a slight touch of the hand, a lingering look and more all adding to the suspense. While we may not get a clear outcome with the clip leaving us well and truly on a cliff hanger, the story portrayed only amplifies the thrilling subject matter of the song, elevating it to a new height as one that will surely be a highlight come September at James' homecoming shows.
