Live Review: PREMIERE: Feel the intergalatic love with Groove City and their downtempo new single

14 April 2021 | 10:00 am | Emma Jones

Sydney trio Groove City are back with a downtempo, romantic and tender new single plus some fittingly out-of-this-world visuals.

Sydney/Eora based disco outfit Groove City are always purveyors of a good time. Their slinky, sensual, and uplifting disco tunes are timeless, and are always so much fun to listen to. With a heavy helping of nostalgia and not taking themselves too seriously, they always know how to deliver a vibe, and their latest release is another out-of-this-world example of this. Titled 'Making Love On The Moon', it's an intergalactic, feel-good cut perfect for a spacey slow dance under the moonlight — and we're thrilled to premiere the stellar visuals for you today.

Laid-back, groove-driven and romantic, 'Making Love On The Moon' is tender enough to make even the staunchest anti-romantic fall head over heels. Turning the tempo right down, the band switches things up sonically and showcase their versatility as they step away from their usual floor fillers. And, to match the occasion, they deliver some truly fitting visuals which take you on a journey to outer space.

With the new addition of a third member, it seems its a welcome line up change and gives the band more sonic freedom for them to further explore their sound. The band said of the clip, “Making Love on the Moon is a documentary on our recent travels to the moon; where we found an alien shred overlord, brought him back to earth and made him our lead guitarist.

"Welcome to Groove City, Pistol Pete."
