flowerkid - vodka orange juice (C.W. Suicidal Ideation)

The new single ‘vodka orange juice’ from Eora/Sydney’s flowerkid is a heart-wrenching and deeply stirring track that is easily one of the songs of the year. The single details his forthright account of his own personal experience of coming out as trans as a teenager, evoking an emotive response that lingers. The heavy profundity of the track is balanced with flowerkid’s delivery of exquisite vocals and restrained sonics, making for a poignant release in anticipation for his debut EP ‘Everyone Has A Breaking Point’ which is due out next month.

Taiwanese-Australian artist, musician and singer JAGUAR JONZE has dropped her new single ‘WHO DIED AND MADE YOU KING?'. The track directly addresses Jaguar Jonze’s ongoing #MeToo advocacy in the Australian music industry, and comes perfectly timed with the discussion occurring in the industry at the moment. “Within a year, we have taken down many notable 'kings' or heads at the top of the music industry,” says Jaguar Jonze. “This song is to both celebrate that, as well as act as warning that more downfalls and clean ups are yet to come.”

Jaecy - Break Bread

Sierra Leonean born, Eora/Bankstown raised artist Jaecy has just released his latest single 'Break Bread'. Despite a quiet 18 months of live music, Jaecy has utilised the time to become one of Western Sydney’s biggest and best prospects. His music is known for its introspective honestly, and his latest single, ‘Break Bread’ continues that sonic ethos. With the track, he maps out his personal challenges, struggles and trauma, and how these have shaped him to the man he is today.

CXLOE - Close

Following off the hot heels of new singles, ‘Soft Rock’ and ‘Cry & Drive’, CXLOE has returned with another electronic pop tinged banger, this time in the form of ‘Close’. Sitting somewhere between alternative and electronic music, ‘Close’ features a unique pop sensibility that makes it distinctly CXLOE. The track reflects being self aware in your wealth, values, and how much you’re willing to compromise when interacting with another person, in all facets of life, whether work, relationships, friendships or battling inner demons.

Srisha - Without You

Eora/Sydney artist Srisha has released her new single ‘Without You’. The track showcases Srisha’s unique blend of smooth RnB with lyrical elements from the socio-political spoken word poetry she is known for. ‘Without You’ was made with Naarm/Melbourne producer Ariel Blum, and expertly fuses elements of music and poetry to offer up striking and self-reflective songwriting. Coming off the back of her previous two singles ‘Lie to Me’ and ‘Euphoria’, Srisha is broadening her horizons and establishing herself as one to watch.

LEVi - Strongback

North London based, MC and songwriter, LEVi has unveiled his new single, ‘Strongback’ via NLV Records. The track continue to solidify LEVi’s distinct sound, combining dancehall with hip hop and rap to create an emotional, good vibe fuelled head bobber.

PinkPantheress - I must apologise

UK breakthrough artist PinkPantheress has released her latest single ‘I must apologise’ ahead of her highly anticipated debut mixtape ‘To hell with it’ to be released later this month. ‘I must apologise’ offers us more of her signature catchy, upbeat sound which merges R&B with influences from 90s UK rave subgenres. The track features PinkPantheress’ ethereal vocals singing about someone telling lies all the time over a boppy, fast-paced sample of Crystal Waters’ 90s house classic ‘Gypsy Woman’.

Naarm (Melbourne) based rapper IJALE has returned with his second body of work, a surprise mixtape titled, ‘OTTN’, (On To the Next). The rapper utilised the lockdown period to solely create, and this project is a reflection of that. It flows more of a musical collage rather than a full length EP, regardless it highlights IJALE as a near perfect song crafter and MC. Early highlight from the tracklist includes ‘NO WEAPON’, a groovy 4/4 number, that's built for a sunlit dancefloor.

Shady Nasty - ATHLEAN-X

Eora (Sydney) group Shady Nasty have released their long anticipated EP, CLUBSMOKE, an exploration of vlogging, gymming, clubbing and clout. The tracklist features both the ecstasy and emptiness of living in their hometown city of Sydney, as they tackle the ideas of identity, culture while moulding together a range of sonic influences.

Nooky - No Mercy

South Coast rapper Nooky has returned with another new abrasive single. ‘No Mercy’ showcases the rappers talents, as he glides over the heavy trap beat. Eerie synth samples and banging percussion combine perfectly with Nooky’s aggressive vocal delivery.
