Lex Deluxe - Purple Speckled Gecko
Lex Deluxe links with her good friend Parry Talks to release her second ever piece of original music under the newly established Parry Talks Records. It’s Roza Terenzi meets River Yarra, a 4/4 glitchy bass-fuelled belter. As someone who has dominated the club circuit for a couple of years now, Lex’s foray into production is no gimmick. As we always say at Purple Sneakers, taste always prevails and it's well on show here with Purple Speckled Gecko.

CRi - Stranger (DJ Boring Remix)
DJ Boring takes on CRi’s prog house tune ‘Stranger’. Having remixed the likes of KLLO, Moby and Jacques Renault in the past, DJ Boring has become accustomed to dominating a remix and making a track his own. ‘Stranger’ is no different. A techno inspired uplifting jam, the tracks constant energy utilises full of upper end production, a raucous drumbeat and Andras like, lucious piano chords.
Cousin - Flowstone
Sydney producer, DJ and all round legend Cousin released his latest EP on his own imprint, Moonshoe Records earlier this week. On it he offers four club ready dubs, riddled with familiar fauna and flora and rattling percussion. Often tracks are called journey like, but these have a special quality. The mould to the context and surroundings that you engage them with painting vast imagery with their texture and genuinely change your perception of the world around you as you consume them.
Mahalia - Jealous (feat. Rico Nasty)
British queen Mahalia and US queen Rico Nasty have teamed up for new cross-continental collaboration in ‘Jealous’. The duo make the most of a simple, spacey trap rap beat, boasting with pristine vocal deliveries fuelled with a tinge of aggression. It’s video is brilliant, channeling Hype Williams’ 1998 film, Belly and uses the song as the soundtrack for some ex-boyfriend sass.
Human Movement - Athena
Human Movement today releases his long awaited debut solo EP, ‘KINETIC’. Out via Of Leisure, the EP sees Edward take the project to new heights, solidifying the sound to a level of production rarely explored within dance music. With the release of the body of work comes the first listen of two new Human Movement originals, Athena and Reframed. Athena is a stripped back percussive gem. Riddled with emotional power, the track ebbs and flows into territories of ambient to breaks.
Nooky - Mungo
Nowra rapper Nooky has released his new single ‘Mungo’. Inspired by the viral ‘Mungo vs Greg Brown’ fight video of the late 2000s, the rapper channels that classic, WWF style aggression on the track. In simplest terms, the track is a gee up song, one fuelled with unmatched energy, infectiousness and a banging drill inspired beat.
SG Lewis - All We Have feat. Lastlings
Megastar producer SG Lewis has today released his debut album ‘times’. It’s packed full of collaborations including Nile Rogers, Robyn, Channel Tres, and our very own Lastlings. It’s a long winded, moody house groover. The Lastlings influence is riddled all over its 6:50 run time, with an infectious vocal delivery and the emotional tinged dance music we’ve come to know and love from them.
ELIO - Charger (Ft. Charli XCX)
Canada-via-Swansea's ELIO has re-released her single 'CHARGER', featuring none other than CHARLI XCX on the new, remixed version. Originally appearing on a 7-track release back in January, this Charli remix of 'CHARGER' is the first cut off ELIO's forthcoming mixtape, the remixes, and is futuristic, relatable and personal pop goodness. We can't get enough.
Boler Mani - Unsatiated
Melbourne based hip hop producer Boler Mani has released his latest single, ‘unsatiated’. The track comes after taking almost a year off releasing music to focus on revitalising his sound. The track is dark and is held together by a driving, rumbling bassline. It’s accompanied by bouncy upbeat percussion and a haunting synth line. The song's lighthearted vocal delivery juxtapose the track's dark production, with tongue in cheek bars and catching flows holding down its top line.
LALKA - Angel/Jezebel
LALKA has returned with her new single, ‘Angel/jezebel’, taken off her forthcoming EP, The Way Music Looks. Co-written by Ninajirachi and Muki, the track tackles dimensional stereotypes of young Asian women. We see her both metaphorically, and visually in the track's clip dismantle and reclaim these parts of herself on her own terms. It’s as empowering as it is powerful.
