Live Review: PREMIERE: Friendship brings Alice Ivy & Luca Brasi together for her take on 'Clothes I Slept In'

8 August 2018 | 12:37 pm | Caitlin Medcalf

The fruition of this remix comes at the hands of a rather unfortunate scenario, but one where friendship is the real kicker. The story of LUCA BRASI and ALICE IVY's first meeting is one that really restores your faith in humanity.

Falls Festival was where they met. Luca Brasi were dealing with a last minute flight cancelation and it looked like they weren't going to make it to their set on time, but absolute legend Alice Ivy jumped in and swapped her set time with theirs so they could make it in time.

Following on from their new-found friendship, Alice Ivy's taken on their track 'Clothes I Slept In' from their record Stay.

Luca Brasi singer Tyler Richardson said of the scenario that “We were fucked. Alice Ivy swapped spots with us and when we got to the site she gave us a bottle of Moet and we hung out and drank together. We made a sick and extremely talented new friend, got to party and play a show. The result of all this is that she also did a sick remix of one of our songs. We definitely owe her a few, what a ledge!”

We're so stoked to be premiering this remix, what better circumstances are there to create music under than friendship? The remix, in true Alice Ivy fashion, elevates the track to new heights, working in her retro percussive edge and knack for building lush, sweeping soundscapes that really make you feel it.

It's big, bold and bassy - something that Alice Ivy is no stranger to exploring.

Of the opportunity to remix a track from their record she said “I was soo stoked when the guys asked me to remix a song off their record! We come from such different music worlds but it's amazing that we were able to create something super cool together, those boys will always have a place in my heart!"

We love a good remix, and even moreso, a wholesome story to go along with it.

Luca Brasi kick off their national album tour this weekend.
