Live Review: PREMIERE: Tina Says fuses pop sensibilities with her signature production intricacies on 'Spin'

With three singles under her belt and years of spinning tunes around the country, Perth's TINA SAYS has over the years solidified herself as a heavyweight selector in bass music and a bona fide champ when it comes to making her own music.

She's coming out today with her fourth single, which we're premiering today on Purple Sneakers. 'Spin' is the name of this one and it sees the producer flex both her signature style of production, but with a new vocal twist that we've yet to hear from her before.

The intricacies hidden amongst the layers of 'Spin' are the real gems here - dotted with wonky percussive hits, screwy synth stabs and a library of audio hits masked as sound effects really make this one what it is. With every listen, more of the track reveals itself to you and that's the beauty of this one.

It's on more of a housier tip than her previous releases, and with the vocal line really driving this one forward, she's stepped into this new territory with all guns blazing. You can really pin that one down to her knowing her sound inside and out. It may be a house track, but there's still that element of edgy production Tina Says has really locked down previously.

Using the lyrics as a remedy for a common sense of anxiety caused by the current social-media landscape, writing this track helped her escape those feelings. Of creating the track, she says:

"At the time I wrote the track, I was over-thinking everything. I'd worked myself up into a total head-spin brought on by constantly comparing myself to others on social media. I'm sure everyone can relate to that feeling of going down the vortex of unproductive thinking.
The track was my remedy to that; a chance to create some laid-back and light that alleviated those pressures for me; I hope when people listen to 'Spin' they'll see the good, amongst the darkness, too, and be reminded to enjoy life, and dance!"
