Live Review: Stevan can't be stopped with new single 'SIA'

Emerging from the coastal town of Wollongong as fresh young talent, Stevan is steadily building himself a career that is propelling him to stardom. Following on from recent single 'Impress You', the rising prolific producer, singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist is back on our radar with his new single 'SIA', which sees his music venture further into the realm of smooth and steady R&B.

Slowing the pace with a down-tempo beat, this song brings a strong sense of intimacy heard through its layered production. Melding soft drums, breezy synths, and blissful vocals, 'SIA' sounds woozy and increasingly intoxicating with each slow beat. With humble vocals placed on top of lulling sounds, we begin to hear the intimacy behind the song with Stevan's introspective lyrics exploring the fragility and vulnerability in relationships. Sounding like a well-refined and polished artist in this new track, he proves once again he is ready to dive into new depths, emanating a sense of openness and progression in his lyricism, music-making, and production.

Following and building upon one of his most personal tracks to date in 'Impress You', this latest release explores love, intimacy, growth, and separation from a partner. Stevan said about the track, “‘SIA’ is about trying to find independence after relying heavily on someone. The idea of not seeing them becoming empowering, as you realise you don’t need them.”

'SIA' is the second single taken from Stevan’s forthcoming mixtape, Ontogeny, set for release Friday, November 20. Following the success of his debut single 'Time', his debut mixtape Just Kids cemented him as a breakthrough act, hailing recognition from around the globe. Stevan has well and truly emerged as a stand-out musician with the world ahead of him as he climbs to new heights with each new release. Gathering praise from press, fans, and musicians alike, he continues to the top as a matured and polished artist with an outstanding sound that needs to be heard.
