Stevan has continued his hot run of incredible new music, today releasing new, upbeat new single, 'Mr Pants'. The Wollongong raised, Eora/Sydney based artist, singer/songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer has become known for creating complex introspective tracks wrapped in a layer of soulful and warm goodness. With his singular sound, he's become one of Australia's most exciting musicians, and soon to be exciting export. Stevan's new single follows closely from his collaboration with Lucianblomkamp on 'Wow', as well as his own latest single, 'Hope It’s Not'.

The track is produced by fellow, indie legends Cosmo's Midnight, and written originally with frequent collaborator Lucianblomkamp. You can pick the Cosmo's Midnight production on the track from a mile away, via the tracks funk riddled groove. It features a house inspired drum beat, a plucked slick bass line which combines with lo-fi open synths. Once again, despite the track's unique dance context, Stevan delivers his trademark playful vocal cadence and witty yet refined lyrical content.

On the creative process of 'Mr Pants', Stevan stated, “’Mr Pants’ came about randomly, as did the name. Lucianblomkamp sent me this beat named ‘Mr Pants’ (not sure why he named it that!) and it sounded quite different to what we had done before. We had just wrapped the Ontogeny mixtape together so I wanted to try something more upbeat, and this track was perfect. I constructed a little narrative about meeting someone special and feeling awesome about it. Then Cos and Pat (Cosmo’s Midnight) heard it and wanted to add some more sunshine and bright elements, which turned out amazing all in all. This is one of my favourites!"
