Live Review: Odette shares new EP, 'Offcuts', featuring stripped back versions from her album, 'Herald'

Highly esteemed Australian singer/songwriter Odette has today released a new EP, titled, 'Offcuts'. The EP features a stunning collection of tracks taken from her critically acclaimed debut album, 'Herald', repackaged in a stripped back piano and voice setting. If that's not enticing enough, the EP also features her cover of ACDC's 'Thunderstruck' for Triple J's 'Live A Version'. 'Herald' has been touted by many as one of this years best full length projects. It combines Odette's unique brand of experimental writing  with dramatic, surreal and satirical themes, creating an almost theatric representation of contemporary pop music. With it, she tackled the ups and downs of mental illness in a nuanced way, reflecting on the consequences, the accountability and healing involved with self exploration and reflection.

Offcuts’ will feature alternative piano and voice versions of Odette’s tracks ‘Amends’, ‘Herald’, ‘Wait For You’, ‘Why Can’t I Let The Sun Set?’ and the cover, 'Thunderstruck'. "Whilst added production is festive, I think it's important for me to release the songs stripped back so people can hear the core without the added textures. I'm really happy the piano and vocal tracks have been released. This is how I play and write when I'm not in the studio. Feels like I'm including others in my isolated living room nonsense."
