Sydney trio Mansionair have treated us to a remix of 'Technicolour' by none other than Christopher Port, and the result is as magical as you'd expect.

It's been a big year for Sydney electro-pop trio MANSIONAIR, and its set to get even bigger. They just finished supporting CHVRCHES on their Splendour in the Grass sideshows, and very soon they'll be touring the US, UK and Europe for 5 months. In between, they've treated us to an absolutely phenomenal remix of their cut 'Technicolour', courtesy of our fave Christopher Port. It transforms the smooth and soulful original into a densely chopped and screwed jam with notes of UK garage.

Mansionair have been crafting boldly cinematic jams since their inception, and as their latest single 'Technicolour' was a perfect statement of their evolution. Following on from supporting them on their latest headlining tour of Australia, Melbourne producer Christopher Port has lent his UK garage-centric expertise to the track, coming on on the heels of his own very recently-released EP, Everything in Quotes "LIGHT".

With a vocal sample setting the pace, Christopher Port's flair for crisp percussive loops comes out in full force. The softly-spoken vocals of the original are chopped up in typical garage style, building up into an explosion of passionate vocal layers among twinkling arpeggios and warm keys. In typical Christopher Port fashion, the track ebbs and flows between moments of heavy garage goodness, and more subdued moments of ambient calm, neatly following the progression of the Mansionair original.

At the end of the day, the remix of 'Technicolour' proves a few things: Mansionair songs sound amazing no matter what you do to them; everything Christopher Port touches is truly magical, and the combination of the two is something to behold.
