Sydney-sider MADE IN PARIS is well known and loved for for her huge deep house and techno tinged bangers. We even named her as an artist to watch in 2017 and she's already setting off the year with a number of choice releases. Her new two track EP, Sonorous, is no exception as she shows her firm grasp on the genres she loves. Also known as Paris Forscutt, the producer has received big love from acts like GESAFFELSTEIN, TIGA, ANNA LUNOE and Spanish DJ/Producer LUIS JUNIOR - who was so impressed that he released this EP through his label, Mooseekaa and remixed the title track.

Far from simplistic, the tracks on this EP are more minimal but still show her prowess within the genre and ability to stretch her signature sound however she likes. The word 'Sonorous' means "imposingly deep and full", and these tracks completely reflect that with deep, rumbling basses contrasting with jittery hats. Even though the whole EP is the same tempo, Made in Paris has made these two tracks so starkly different in mood.

The title track is brooding and tense, with a throbbing bassline playing throughout. A melody line progressively grows more and more frantic, undulating into clarity and then to more subdued repetition and back again over an unrelenting drum pattern.

'Slow Down' feels a little more uptempo and harder hitting than the opening track. Still maintaining that bare bones feel, the two lead synths repeat their warbled patterns with different degrees of distortion and effects back and forth, almost like they're having a conversation. The song builds a tension that just pulses on and on until the climax, bringing all the elements towards the end for a satisfying danceable end to this EP.

Forscutt knows her sound very well, every track she releases has her unique sonic fingerprints all over it. She's already been pretty prolific with her single releases and mixes, so lets hope over the course of the year we hear even more broody tunes from Made in Paris.
