Live Review: Jade Le Flay turns things up to 11 ahead of Formations

13 October 2017 | 10:17 am | Emma Jones

One of Sydney's reigning queens of DJing, JADE LE FLAY is a born performer, and has music flowing through her veins. With a family of DJs behind her, she's toured the world as a trained dancer, she's currently coming into her own behind the decks as a powerful force in the future bass/trap world and beyond. Having already supported the likes of TROYBOIRL GRIMEPIA MIA and so many more, as well as touring Australia and New Zealand and this year playing at SPLENDOUR IN THE GRASS, she's only just getting started as one of the country's most exciting DJs and producers.

Her sets are all about energy and letting go, focussing on expert selections to create an immersive experience that's so much more than just your average DJ set. Combining her penchant for live performance as well as her superb DJ skills, Le Flay goes hard each and every time, and will have the dance floor under her control within seconds. Delving into the deep world of future bass, trap, hip-hop and so much more, she navigates genres and styles with ease, transcending conventions to create an ultimately high energy, intense and most importantly, fun time for anyone ready to get down.

With her hefty list of achievements constantly growing, she is now set to add the first ever FORMATIONS festival to her resume. The immersive experience put on by the Stoney Roads legends is set to kick off for its inaugural event next weekend, and with Jade Le Flay on board alongside SWINDAILMONTELL2099, MAZDEAYWYFLEX MAMI and more, good times are guaranteed!

To get to know Jade a little better and to get us all extra excited for Formations festival, we got her on for a special guest mix to give us a little preview of what we might expect to go down in her set next weekend. Catch it below, or listen live on Purple Sneakers Radio every Saturday 5-6pm on 94.5FM, on DAB, and streaming online here.
