Each week, we receive countless submissions of exciting new music, so we’ll be taking you through a weekly wrap up of all our favourite new tunes every Friday called #TrustedForTaste. Follow our Spotify playlist to never miss our updates!

Sycco - My Ways

Rising star Sycco continues her fantastic run of unique, relatable and utterly addictive indie pop gems with her new single 'My Ways'. "[A]ll about losing track of days, getting caught up in your monkey brain and wanting out of it," 'My Ways' is yet another example of why Sycco remains one to keep an eye on with a hook that embeds itself in your brain, and a push and pull between claustrophobia and hope. We couldn't get enough of Sycco if we tried.

Purient - Memories

Melbourne Producer and vocalist Purient is making her 12’ debut ‘Memories’ via Pelvis and Burning Rose Records on the 26th of March. She opens the listening for the EP via it’s title track, Memories. A slick dark number, her voice floats seamlessly over the gritty production, taking the track everywhere from icy coolness to blistering heat.

Skeleten - Walking On Your Name

Sydney creative (genius) Russell Fitzgibbon has returned with his third hypnotic single under his Skeleten project, ‘Walking On Your Name’. As always, he presents an undeniable groove with deep melancholy through his enchanting vocal delivery. The track is a reflection of deep focus and emotion in a relationship. He explains, “You know when you’re somewhere with a person or people and your whole focus, your whole world, seems to exist only in them and that place? I love that feeling.”

Jennifer Loveless - Out/Under

QUEEN Jennifer Loveless is returning with her sophomore EP out early March with the legendary Butter Sessions. Leading with single, Out/Under, the project tackles the concept of water. Described as dystopian dance-floor thump, the EP is set to flip the expectations on Jenn as a producer, contrasting her earlier Hard/Soft release. Out/Under combines a thumping drum rhythm with beautiful field samples. We say it time and time again but this track’s a journey, taking you somewhere between your feet in the soil at the bottom of a waterfall, to an open air carpark rave.

Sydney producer Grasps has released new single, HORIZON (FULL MOON) today. The track was made the day in which the passing of SOPHIE was made public. Out of the mourning came this extremely special track, both a cathartic experience for the artist creating it but also for the listener. It underlines a deep nostalgic rave imagery and has a beautiful ethereal quality to it.

Muki - I Make Boys Cry

Muki has announced her long awaited sophomore EP Car Crash Through Your Heart: Part 1. Alongside its release comes it’s stunning lead single, I Make Boys Cry. One of the first to enter the hyperpop scene in Australia, the single hones into her sassy, glitzy extroverted production she burst onto the scene with. It’s a bold break up anthem, held together by bubbly synths and sucker punching drums.

Mindy Meng Wang & Tim Shiel - Hidden Qi - 隐.气

Chinese/Australian composer Mindy Meng Wang 王萌 and producer Tim Shiel have revealed the second single, Hidden Qi - 隐.气, to their collaborative EP Nervous Energy 一触即发. The EP, releasing on March the 12th, combines Mindy's recordings on her 21-string traditional guzheng with Tim's production to create a melting pot between contemporary and traditional sound. Hidden Qi - 隐.气 is another absolutely glorious soundscape which once again finds the perfect meeting point between traditional and contemporary.

hearteyes - ENEMY prod. XMICHAELWARREN

hearteyes has released an emo-rap loosie exclusively on soundcloud this week. The sydney producer and vocalist is a tough one to pick sonically, but he has returned with an emo rap banger. With constant teasing of his next project HEADBANGERS 2, it's exciting to see where this melting pot of emotion, sounds and tenacity leads us.

Lucy Sugerman - colour blind

19 year old Lucy Sugerman follows up her debut single, 'i wanna kiss boys cos i'm bored' with another pearler of a pop song in 'colour blind'. Deeply relatable and vulnerable, Sugerman lets her gorgeous vocals shine over a restrained musical arrangement, letting us in on her mistakes and missteps in love. It's an exciting step forward and has us eager to hear more!

K.I.M - Ghost Town Ft. Connie Mitchell

One half of the multi-platinum selling duo, The Presets, K.I.M (Kim Moyes) has released a new single which evokes those very same isolated, eerie and all-too-peculiar feelings of a time when our towns were empty and our lives were in limbo. Teaming up with Connie Mitchell of Sneaky Sound System, this track is unlike anything else you'll hear this week — just the way we like it.
