What So Not Announces Fully ‘Immersive’ Raves

11 January 2023 | 2:37 pm | Parry Tritsiniotis

“How much has life changed since 2019. It's been a journey for us all... & mine has brought me to this moment; unveiling here to you what I have been deep inside for over 3yrs.”

What So Not has today revealed a project that he has been working on for three years, announcing a unique live music experience titled Anomaly - Immersive Mode.

He has coined the shows an Immersive Rave, reflecting on “How much has life changed since 2019. It's been a journey for us all... & mine has brought me to this moment; unveiling here to you what I have been deep inside for over 3yrs.”

The shows seem to be an all encapsulating experience of his album which released last year, Anomaly. It features singles Mr Regular alongside Oliver Tree and Killer Mike as well as Messin’ Me Up featuring EVAN GIIA. The record features vast sonic soundscapes, referencing both the energy fuelled and trap inspired What So Not sounds of old and moulding them with vast melodies, pop structures and grandiose chorus breaks.

When teasing the project last week he stated that, “When I was making Anomaly I had a vision of how people could experience music like never before. I cant wait to share this with you.”

Its teaser video features three dimensional visuals, strobing lasers with What So Not performing live in front of them.

The shows kick off In San Francisco on the 11th of February before heading to Denver, Las Vegas and Los Angeles across March and April. With such a big live music project, we can’t help but think it will also be coming downunder soon.

During the album’s release, What So Not revealed that he was working on an exciting underlying project, which seems to have manifested into the Immersive Rave’s. He stated at the time, “The creative aspect and storyline behind this album is actually the scoring of a 3D animated film that I’ve been developing, and close to showing people more of.”

“I’ve been building an entire world of which this album is the score. And I’m excited to have people quite literally be able to step into that world in the not-too-distant future. I’ve been building this animated film for almost three years, and I actually started working on this back in 2019, and it is finally almost here.

“I’m excited to start implementing that into the shows, and creating a show that I’m not sure if anyone has ever really done yet. That will start to come to fruition probably within the next six months”.
