Watch Tyler, The Creator Give Advice To Emerging Artists From Australia And 11 Other Countries

Converse have released a new episode of their All Star Series: Tyler Talks, this time in Sydney.

The series sees Tyler, The Creator sit down with some of the world's most budding creatives taken from Converse's All Stars. These artists come from a range of mediums, allowing them to ask questions directly to one of the most groundbreaking musicians of the last 10 years. The talks have already been conducted in Los Angeles, Paris, London and now Sydney. 

He offered artists advice on a range of topics, from his life philosophy, embracing his inner child, expressing creative freedom, overcoming hardships, revelations on his public perception, how to utilise friendships as well as his obsession with sweets and Chai Tea lattes. 

When chatting on overcoming creative roadblocks he revealed one of his most potent pieces of advice stating, “If you’re a creative person, it’s easy for people to pigeonhole you,

“When you branch out and do something different, even your biggest supporters might not understand as they don’t have the same lens as you. When I’m not in my comfort zone, it pushes me to break out even more.

"It’s easy to relapse and fall back into your old ways, but sometimes getting out of your comfort level is the greatest thing ever and that’s what this Converse All Star experience is all about.”

Some of our favourite artists sat in the audience including the likes of PRICIE, Boy Soda and Pania. 

Converse brought together 30 young creatives from 12 different countries to participate in their All Stars program to learn from each other and collaborate. Musicians, visual creatives and storytellers were selected to attend a three-day workshop hosted by industry leaders. They were challenged to fuse their cultural influences, musical genres and independent styles to create five original tracks and a visual expression of the sound. 

The series culminated in a showcase of the work to Tyler, who offered insights to the crew.
