Following their return to the new music limelight in 5 years, Vallis Alps are ushering in the new year with a second preview of their new sonic stylings, releasing electro house inspired track On The Eve Of The Rush.

Alongside the track, the band has revealed news of their first live shows since 2017, which are set to take place in March of 2023. They'll perform at The Night Cat in Naarm / Melbourne on the 30th of March (TIX HERE) and at Oxford Art Factory in Eora / Sydney on the 31st of March (TIX HERE).

The track's narrative is inspired by the novel Grapes Of Wrath's quest for betterment in relation to the success of the project so far. Parissa Tosif of Vallis Alps reveals, "I was inspired by the idea of searching for more - out of survival but also because of an innate human desire to grow and flourish.

“It’s one of my favourite novels and reminds me of a lot of themes of the migrant journey and the search for a better life.”

On The Eve Of The Rush reflects the lived experience of emigration where the betterment of life comes with the choice and possibility and the anxiety inducing risks that are associated with those who physically resettle.

This is starkly showcased in the visualiser of the track which was put together with footage from Passive Kneeling. On the visualiser Tosif continues, "This song is a blur of many things around materialism and success – and about how to keep pivoting back to what’s important in life through questioning oneself and our motives.

"We are all looking for a better life. We all want to keep growing, feel loved and be successful. Writing this song helped me on the path of questioning the effect of the conceptions of success on my life goals and the dreams I have.”

Vallis Alps is the transatlantic project of Tosif and David Ansari who returned earlier this year following a 5 year hiatus to release Set It Off, Set It Right. The duo broke onto the scene with their self titled debut EP and then follow up EP Fable which drew international praise, entries in the triple j Hottest 100, a sold out 40 date tour across the US, UK, Europe and Australia as well as appearances at some of the biggest festivals in the world.
