Triple J's high school talent quest, Unearthed High has announced its return for 2022 alongside all of the official details and deadlines for this year's edition. 

Entries for the competition are officially open until the deadline of midnight on Monday the 25th of July. 

The contest showcases the best musical acts and talents that exist in Australian high schools and help launch careers.

The 2022 Unearthed High winner will be assisted by triple j by funding and facilitating the professional recording of their next single as well as career consults with local, established musical artists.

Unearthed High has also teamed up with Association Of Artist Managers for the remaining five artists, with the budding legends having access to a senior music manager to discuss their careers. 

The best Unearthed High entry from a First Nations artist will win ongoing mentorship from the AAM, as well as a songwriting workshop at their school by the APRA AMCOS Songmakers program.

The competition has found some of the most incredible talent in Australia, including The Kid LAROI, George AliceGenesis Owusu, Hockey Dad, Montaigne, Arno Faraji and more.

Surf rock band The Rions out of Sydney won the competition last year, with their track Night Light placing at #51 on the Hottest 100. The band just announcing their first east coast tour.
