27 June 2022 | 12:52 pm | Parry Tritsiniotis

Despite the heavy Australian and local emphasis on the line up, the festival has failed to book a First Nations artist.

THIS THAT festival has announced their 2022 line up, which is dominated by local acts as well as a couple huge international names featured in the mix.

The one-day festival will tour Sandstone Point in Queensland on the 29th of October and Newcastle in NSW the following weekend on Saturday the 5th of November.

On the international front, underground rapper Earl Sweatshirt will return to Australia for the first time since his appearance at Laneway at the start of 2020, delivering his critically acclaimed SICK! to Australian audiences. Also on the line up is pop-rock singer Upsahl.

On the local front DMA's will be performing exclusively at the NSW leg of the festival, as well as Hockey Dad, Skeggs, Flight Facilities playing both dates. What So Not will exclusively perform at Sandstone Point.

They'll be joined onstage by Ruby Fields, Alice Ivy, Lola Scott, Vera Blue, Godlands, Hockey Dad, Hooligan Hefs, Jesswar, Kinder and more.

The people over at triple j Unearthed will also choose a special opener for the THIS stage.
