Last year, Disney officially released a lo-fi hip-hop instrumental album in the form of Lofi Minnie: Focus.

The album turned some of the film company's nostalgic musical works into lo-fi beats to study to. The album's ten tracks include Toy Story's You've Got A Friend In Me, Frozen 2's Into The Unknown and The Lion King's Hakuna Matata.

“What attracted us to lo-fi is the ability to reimagine our songs in a completely new way that combines the soothing benefits of lo-fi with the wonder and nostalgia that Disney has to offer,” the company said in a statement. "Lo-fi and Disney are both a great source of comfort, so the two make for a perfect match.”

Each track was produced by a different lo-fi producer, with contributors including Philanthrope, Krynoze and Purrple Cat.

Now, Disney has returned with a follow-up album, Lofi Minnie: Chill.

This album includes reimagined Disney hits, such as The Circle Of Life from The Lion King performed by Team Astro, the popular Encanto song, We Don’t Talk About Bruno by Otesla, Mulan's Reflection by Philanthrope, and many more.

For those wondering what Lofi music sounds like, it's characterised by instrumentals and a tempo of 70-90 beats per minute to match the human heart rate. It's roots are in hip-hop, house, and jazz music.

Tim Pennoyer, Enterprise Franchise Management from The Walt Disney Company, said about the new album, "As Minnie Mouse is one of Disney’s most celebrated icons, she’s a source of comfort for so many around the world. Bringing listeners comfort, and a way to unwind, is a huge part of what makes Lofi special too. We saw those elements marry so well in the release of our first album, Lofi Minnie: Focus, that we knew we couldn’t stop at just one."

Pennoyer added, "We’re so grateful to the brilliant Lofi talent involved in this project. None of this could be possible without them, and their styles are so nuanced that this album really has something for everyone while maintaining a consistent vibe throughout.

"Many Lofi music fans get in the zone by listening for hours, so we stacked 16 songs into Lofi Minnie: Chill for fans to get over an hour of listening with the first album combined. We're just getting started on reimagining fresh new interpretations of Minnie Mouse like this and are so excited for people to see what she has in store."

Lofi Minnie: Chill follows the astounding success of Lofi Minnie: Focus. Disney's first foray into Lofi music received over 12 million streams worldwide; Hakuna Matata received 4.5 million streams on its own and was added to one of Spotify’s most extensive playlists, ‘Lofi Beats’, which has 5 million followers.
