“First of all, I’m very drunk. When they cancelled the show, I had no option but to go straight to the bar."

The Kid LAROI wasn’t about to leave fans disappointed after Malaysia’s Good Vibes Festival was suddenly canned. The Aussie star instead decided to surprise punters by doing an impromptu pop-up performance in a hotel lobby.
ICYMI: The 1975’s set at Good Vibes Festival in Kuala Lumpur was cut short after singer Matty Healy launched a furious tirade against the Malaysian government and kissed the band’s bassist Ross MacDonald on stage, directly breaking the country’s anti-LGBTQ+ laws.
“I do not see the point of inviting The 1975 to a country and then telling us who we can have sex with,” said Healy onstage prior to the kiss.
“I am sorry if that offends you and you’re religious and it’s part of your fucking government, but your government are a bunch of fucking retards and I don’t care anymore.”

Not only was the entire Good Vibes Festival cancelled soon after the stunt as a result (confirmed in a heated statement from festival organisers), but the Malaysian government has also now vowed to tighten entry requirements for international artists.
Following the festival’s cancellation on Saturday night (July 22), LAROI (real name Charlton Howard) revealed he had only heard the news when he landed in Malaysia.
“Touched down & found out the festival is cancelled… I love you Malaysia, I’m sorry,” the Sydney-born star wrote on his Instagram story, before adding, “Might sing some songs in the hotel bar fk it”.
And that’s exactly what he did, according to several clips circulating on social media showing the hitmaker casually performing tracks Stay, Without You and Thousand Miles to a crowd of fans gathered in a hotel lobby.
“First of all, I’m very drunk. When they cancelled the show, I had no option but to go straight to the bar,” he began.
“I’m with my friends today, and I just figured since everything got cancelled and I’m here anyway, I may as well come and do a couple of songs. Thanks to the hotel for letting me do this,” before launching into Thousand Miles.
