Sydney's Club 77 Will Remain Open Until 4am Every Night Of The Week

Club 77 is relaunching as so called Sydney's most essential late night dive bar destination.

Iconic Eora/Sydney inner city nightclub (and one of the only dedicated nightclubs in the city) is celebrating its 25th year of operation, but relaunching as the city's newest diver bar destinations.

In an attempt to reinvigorate local nightlife and restore Sydney to its former late night glory, 77 will open seven nights a week until 4am with free entry between Monday and Friday.

The venue during the week will be accompanied by the best DJs and live music in the city.

Its revamp is inspired by the makeshift aesthetic of New York dive bars. While the club isn't pumping on the weekends, the redesigned layout will be equipped with stylish new furniture, booth seating, lampshades, three new stages and a cutting edge DJ booth.

The venue has also been completely soundproofed and acoustically treated, flaunting a pumping KV2 Audio system specially tuned by Translate Sound.

Have no fear, the traditional Club 77 as we know it is going nowhere and strives to continue to be a bastion of electronic music that the city has always known and loved, now on every night of the week, from low slung beats to sweaty house, techno and disco.

This will be engrained in its already popular weekly schedule of programming, from parties and collaborations from the likes of House Of Mince, Phil Smart, UNDR Ctrl and Niche Productions continuing to indulge in the venue.

Further plans and initiatives include activating the space during daytime hours as a community hub for First Nations and LGBTQI+ artists and community members, including DJ and production workshops, marketing and promotions workshops, projects surrounding mental health awareness within the industry, and paid internships.

Club 77 director Dane Gorrel stated, “The lockdown period really gave us the opportunity to analyse our business model and determine what we want Club 77 to be, and that is THE late-night live music destination for Sydney/Eora.

"We've spent the past 12 months getting feedback from the local community and influential night-time economy advocates on best practices to achieve our goals."
