Premiere: Georgia Bird & Mittens Combine For Single From Forthcoming Lovejoy Compilation

Party throwers and now acclaimed record label Lovejoy are gearing up to release their 10 track, charity driven compilation, Communions, out on the 22nd of April.

Before its release next week, we are extremely grateful to be premiering the collaborative effort of Georgia Bird and Mittens (Morgan Wright) titled Outline.

The Lovejoy mantra is one that is focussed on providing a safe and carefree outlet for local music, whether in the form of an event of release. The outfit, headed by Jack Colquhoun and Morgan Huggins are acting vital members of what makes Eora/Sydney dance music so surreal and wonderful. A pair of humans that are truely dedicated to ensuring that the fabric of local dance music is platformed appropriately, whether on a 12 inch vinyl, in a bunker, a fully kitted out warehouse or in a licensed venue.

Their parties have recently hosted the likes of Wax'o Paradiso, Dameeeela, Yu Su, Jennifer Loveless, Andy Garvey, Kia and Tornado Wallace just to name a few. 

Now they turn to their fundraising compilation, in which all funds 100% of the profits will be donated to Indi Kindi and the work they do in remote communities. The organisation is a ground-breaking solution for children under five in Aboriginal communities, integrating health, wellbeing, education and development to give children the best start in life.

In a statement the duo stated, "For us, Lovejoy is a celebration of the people around us as much as it is the music we love. So, to mark the close of a strange year (again), we’ve come together with some of the most exciting, outrageous & fun people we have the pleasure of associating with, for COMMUNIONS."

The compilation features a constant flux of moods and emotions, reflecting the wide scope of electronic music that so called "Australia" has become known for. Outline by Georgia Bird and Mittens falls safely in the dusty dance floor, late night category and is one we just cant wait to hear on a big system and under some lazers. 

Outline is pure, unadulterated techno bliss, one that transposes the traditional tropes of the genre to a comfortable yet trailblazing sonic dimension. Ruthless throughout its run time, it features a slamming bass line, a thumping kick and strobing synths that take the track to its euphoric next level.

Georgia Bird is renowned for incredible work as one half of blazing duo IN2STELLAR, as well as label head of new label Phenomena Records, and is a crucial member of the constantly evolving, cultural Naarm dance music hub. She taps Mittens, the 7th creative endeavour of the omnipresent Morgan Wright, who last year released his critically acclaimed Class Tourist via his own legendary imprint Burning Rose.
