More Offset More Offset

Ahead of the release of his new solo album, Offset has dropped a preview of a new track featuring a verse from late Migos member, Takeoff.

Takeoff - who is also Offset’s cousin once removed - was shot and killed in Houston in November last year after an altercation over a game of dice at a private event.

On March 20, Offset posted a one-minute clip to his Instagram story where he is seen bopping to the track in his car as Takeoff raps alongside Detroit rapper Icewear Vezzo in a fiery verse.

While it’s not yet confirmed whether the banger of a track will appear on Offset’s forthcoming album, it’s undoubtedly gotten fans of the trap legend excited over the potential inclusion.

It comes after Offset declared he was “album mode” earlier this month after the follow-up to his 2019 record, Father of 4, was met with a slew of delays, including the rapper suing his former label Quality Control in order to reclaim ownership of his solo material.

The record was meant to be released following Takeoff’s and Quavo’s October 2022 album, Only Built For Infinity Links, but plans for the release were shelved following Takeoff’s sudden death.

However, Offset has already given fans a small taste of what to expect in the upcoming release after dropping club anthem 2 Live featuring Hit-Boy in January.

At the time of writing, there’s been no official release date for Offset’s new project, though it sounds like we could be hearing about it any day now.

Fellow Migos member Quavo also recently honoured his nephew Takeoff with a track called Without You which was released in January and performed at the Grammy Awards.

While there were whispers of backstage beef between Quavo and Offset that same night, Offset later cleared things up in a tweet where he denied that there had been any bad blood between him and his cousin.
