Splendour in the Grass announces world first fully immersive online music festival

Splendour in the Grass have always been world leaders in innovation when it comes to live music. They've today taken it to the next level, announcing their first ever Splendour XR, a bold and world first extended reality edition of your favourite Aussie festival. It will be available to view on mobile, tablet, browser, desktop and VR, Splendour XR combines technology, art and brings together a lineup of 50 musical artists.

Heading up the bill are international pop stars Khalid, Charli XCX, The Killers, Chvrches, Denzel Curry, and Duke Dumont. It also features Aussie legends Tash Sultana, Vance Joy, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, Vera Blue, Spacey Jane, The Jungle Giants, Ocean Alley, Masked Wolf, Violent Soho, What So Not, The Chats, King Stingray and more.

Single user tickets will be available from $19.99 for a single day/$34.99 for both days and with a $2.50 discount for Splendour in the Grass existing IRL ticket holders. Inside the festival, you'll be able to build your virtual self and move through an imaginatively embellished but faithful recreation of Splendour’s Byron Bay venue. And just like Splendour IRL, you’ll create your own schedule, travel from stage to stage to watch your favourite artists and all while virtually meeting up and partying with your mates along the way.

Focussing not just on live music and the festival feel, the XR will raise funds for music industry workers and aim to raise awareness around mental health, wellbeing and sustainability. Splendour XR will include an online medical centre to assist any patrons who are struggling with their mental health in this Covid world. XR is also committed to managing emissions and creating a clean and green platform with a minimal carbon footprint.
