Beloved Live Music and Pizza dungeon Frankie's is handing out $1 slices next week

21 May 2021 | 12:59 pm | Parry Tritsiniotis

Frankie's have vowed to make their next and final rotation around the sun a special one, and they're kicking it off in a pretty epic way.

In case you missed the news, beloved Sydney/Eora live music venue Frankie's Pizza is set to be demolished in order to make way for the new Sydney Metro line. It's been obviously met with significant controversy, with the venue acting as the home of garage grunge, rock n roll, pinball and some massive secret headliners. They survived lock outs, noise complaints, a god damn global pandemic and strict alcohol restrictions and it's taken a literal train to take them out of business. The venue will continue to operate normally until the time of the demolition.

In a statement from the venue, they've taken the sad news bittersweetly, "The long and short is this; Frankie’s Pizza as we know it will be demolished, we have AT LEAST a year left to party though, and that we will. Big time. We are taking this opportunity to push all of our energy and resources into making more memories with our beloved Sydney, it’s people and it’s visitors, while we still can! We are adding more bands, more bills, big events, collaborations, and all the late night revelry you would expect from one of the world’s great Rock & Roll institutions, right up til’ the fat lady dies."

They've vowed to make their next and final rotation around the sun a special one, and they're kicking it off in a pretty epic way. They'll be slinging a whole new Happy hour from the 24th of May, with its globally renowned famous slices of pizza selling for just $1 between 4pm and 6pm everyday of the week.

A petition has been launched in an attempt to save the live music venue, you can sign that HERE.
