Liyah Knight Releases New Single, 'Play It Cool'

So called Sydney based artist Liyah Knight has today shared her newest single Play It Cool. 

The track is the first piece of original music from Knight since the release of her 2021 EP, Traveller's Guide. Travellers Guide was centred around Kelley & Conner's Emotional Cycle of Change and saw Knight travel through a series of personally challenging and rewarding sonic vignettes. The tracks paint a picture of a romantic episode which develops into a coming of age tale, one of self resolution, understanding and at last, peace.

Since breaking onto the scene with her debut EP Nesting in 2020, Knight has wowed audiences for her infectious vocal delivery and her stunning songwriting skills. Since then she's proven herself as a genre-defying singer songwriter, one whose music is tied together by incredible songwriting and deeply personal lyrical content. 

Play It Cool ushers in a new era for the artist, reflecting her mindset in the past year. The track features her signature vocals that float with strength and confidence over a bouncy, swinging bass driven beat. Her vocal delivery and lyrical prowess creates a deeply infectious energy, one that reflects nonchalance and embracing the present moment.

Liyah Knight says of the song, “I’ve spent the last 12 months doing what I love and having fun, and I think ‘Play It Cool’ is a testament to that. It’s about not taking relationships and life too seriously, and enjoying the moment”.

She will be making festival appearances at Lost Paradise and NYE On The Hill this Summer, acting as a perfect way to hear Play It Cool loud and proud.
