The album now outscores Radiohead's 'OK Computer' and Pink Floyd's 'Wish You Were Here'.

Kendrick Lamar's To Pimp A Butterfly is now the number 1 most ranked album of all time according to over 50,000 reviews.

The highly popular website Rate Your Music, which sees a community of fans rate, review, catalog and discover new music, now has the album as the most enjoyed of all time, sitting at an average review of 4.34 out of five across 58,322 reviews.

It jumped Radiohead's OK Computer, which is sitting at an average review of 4.26 across 84,518 reviews. Also padding out the top 5 is Pink Floyd's Wish You Were Here, cult-adored prog-rock album In The Court Of The Crimson King by King Crimson and Radiohead's Kid A. 

The highest-ranking hip-hop album after To Pimp A Butterfly is MF DOOM and Madlib's Madvillainy which sits at number 6 on the list.

According to the website, the chart is calculated by an algorithm that "assigns a score to each album based on many factors, including weighted ratings and overall popularity."

The weighting system is designed to reflect the views of the users who actively use the site, ensuring that the charts mainly reflect the ratings of active, participating members of the site.

To Pimp A Butterfly placed Kendrick Lamar on top of the upper echelons of rap music artistry and sees Lamar traverse a range of genres including funk, soul and jazz to create an album that is more a call to arms than a collection of songs. He utilises some of the best musicians on the planet including Thundercat, Terrace Martin and Robert Glasper to create an album that has defined the genre since its release.

It has become the hallmark album for people interested in concept records.
