The program is designed to uncover, train and mentor a new crop of talent in the electronic music industry, matching budding women, trans and non-binary DJs with established mentors and figureheads of the Eora / Sydney dance scene.

The program helps trainees learn the ropes of DJing as well as running events, hosting radio shows and releasing music of their own.

On the relaunch of the program, FBi Radio's managing director Tanya Ali stated, “Despite the strides in representation we’ve seen over the last few years, many parts of the electronic music world are still dominated by cis, straight men. We’d like to see this change at all levels, but it feels particularly crucial that there are considered pathways into what can be a really intimidating scene to enter.

"FBi Radio Dance Class provides an opportunity to learn a wealth of oft-gatekept knowledge, while building a passionate, supportive community around you.”

Applications are open from now until Thursday the 9th of February. Applications are open to, "women, non-binary and trans folk with excellent taste in new dance music and the passion to become a DJ. No prior experience is required to apply.

"Applicants will be assessed purely on their passion, enthusiasm and knowledge of electronic music."
