Hailing from Ballarat but now Melbourne based, TESSA & THE TYPECAST have fast become one of the most talked about groups in town and are enjoying having the industry buzzing as people struggle to find enough superlatives for them.

Upon the release of their single 'Painter' in late 2010, they were immediately picked up by Triple J and XFM in London. Selling out two single launches, the band then signed a one off single deal with General Pants to release 'Painter' on their Major Label.

Taking a break over summer as frontwoman Tessa went to New York City to complete new recordings, they reconvened back in Melbourne after they were personally selected by Kate Nash to support her on her recent Australian tour. A residency in March at the Grace Darling Hotel in Melbourne saw the venue sell out every night.

Having supported other artists as diverse as Little Red, The Vasco Era, The Fearless Vampire Killers, Owl Eyes and Kate Miller-Heidke, the band are proud to announce the release of their new single 'Straight On 'Til Morning'.

Demoed in New York City and with final recordings completed in Melbourne, the single takes Tessa & The Typecast's piano driven indie pop sound and adds in lashings of buzzsaw guitar, making you wonder if THIS is the hit The Strokes' record company have been waiting for in vain for so long? Keep an eye on them over the coming months to find out the answer!

Supports from residents; SWICK, GLASS MIRRORS and AIRWOLF, and all your favourites spinning party-tunes all night in the front room!

Why did you wake up the next day naked with a spinning head, and only a huge grin on your face while you put together the pieces of last night?
