Sydney producer Basenji let us in his suitcase and told us of his most essential items to take on tour.
Aside from eating almonds and riding his bike, mad dawg BASENJI enjoys producing ridiculously fun dance music; which is set apart from his peers due to his explosive, child-like sound. His latest offering, 'Heirloom' will attest to that.
A fast moving artist, he was quickly picked up by management and touring collective Astral People, and his first few shows were spent warming the stage for the likes of xxyyxx and Cashmere Cat; not to mention playing in his hometown for Boiler Room TV during their Sydney visit earlier this year.
Now signed to Future Classic, Basenji is working towards releasing his debut EP, in between touring as both a support act, headliner and festival appearance. In fact, he just came back from playing his first ever international show that took place at Auckland's The Roxy & Everybody's!

Whilst we're on the topic of performing, we thought it'd be good timing to grab a list of Basenji's essential items that he takes with him on the road, before he heads off on his national 'Heirloom Tour'. Dates for those shows can also be found below!
LAPTOP
The “mean, sleepy, lobster” sticker raises a lot of eyebrows. One guy at airport security thought it was hilarious and when he stopped asking he said “But what’s a seb?” Another guy looked at the laptop, then looked at me and said “You’ve spent too much time under the sun bro.”
AKAI PC
It’s falling apart, but it’s still the best. Really looking forward to the launch of the updated version!
EXTRA WHITE BUBBLEMINT
This gum is new and it is amazing. It is like a combination of Extra White Professional with that clichéd bubblegum taste from everyone’s childhood. Strongly recommend A+++
REXONA WOMEN HYPO-ALLERGENIC DEODORANT
This is my favourite deodorant. This always goes with me on tour. I’ll even take it to the club so I can stay fresh after my set.
VINTAGE SAILOR MOON STICK-ON EARRINGS
I bought these off Etsy. I like to take them to the club and put them on people.
