No Sydney New Years Plans? Try This Epic Boat Party

With how much stock we all put into our New Year’s Eve plans, we often tend to forget about the big day itself, leaving celebrations to the absolute last second.

For techno heads in Sydney (Eora), at least, that won’t be a problem this time around: after the fireworks have burst and we’ve all polished off a bottle of champagne or two, we’ll be hitting the New Year First Sunrise festival – an epic boat party roaming Sydney Harbour with a stacked bill of EDM greats.

The overnight party will be held across two boats, each boasting three levels of clubbing madness and their own two-stage live music programs. The first boat to leave the dock will run its itinerary from 2:30am to 6:30am – Sohail Godwin, Allie Cat and Wizard Of Loz will play sets of house music on the boat’s lower level, while Naomi Berry, Beyond Def and Kanan will play techno sets on the upper level.

The other boat’s program will run from 3:00am to 7:00am, with the same setup of house music on the lower level and techno on the upper level. The former lineup features David G, G.onza and Sucram, while the latter features Mara, Aslø and Nastya Dikikh.

The two boats will host a cumulative total of 1,000 partygoers, with both offering open-air rooftops and 360-degree views of Sydney Harbour. There will also be free fruits for breakfast and prizes offered up for the best-dressed punters. Boarding will begin at 2:00am on January 1, and limited tickets are on sale now – find them here.
