Perth-based singer Jarrod Jeremiah is taking listeners on a nostalgic journey with his brand-new single, SUPERSTAR!

More than just another pop-banger, it's a heartfelt homage to the Y2K era, a time of carefree spirits and unforgettable memories.

In the track, Jeremiah taps into the essence of the past, blending soul, pop, R&B, and hip-hop to create a musical adventure that transports us back to the beloved days of Hannah Montana and feeling like a rockstar.

But the single isn't just about the past; it's also a celebration of the present and a tribute to the special people and moments in our lives that bring us joy. Jeremiah draws inspiration not only from pop culture but also from personal experiences, including the recent loss of his family dog.

Of his latest release, the singer said, "I wanted SUPERSTAR! to capture that feeling of nostalgia and pure joy. It's about those special individuals who make us feel like we can conquer the world, just like my family dog did. This song is my way of cherishing those memories and spreading positivity through music."

The song's infectious melody and summery vibes make it an instant earworm, something you'll want to groove to and play on repeat.

In celebration of his latest release, we caught up with Jarrod Jeremiah to find out everything you need to know about the Perth muso and his latest track SUPERSTAR!

Give us the elevator pitch (short summary) of your latest track SUPERSTAR!

SUPERSTAR! Is my most pop tune yet. It’s a fun catchy tune really capturing a Y2K vibe, but it actually came around after my family dog passed away. It’s a nostalgic song that will have you thinking about that person that makes you feel like a SUPERSTARR!!!

If your music was a flavour, what would it taste like?

Hmmm, I want to say sweet and sour sauce - you don’t expect it to go with every moment until you try it.

Who are some of your biggest musical influences and how have they impacted your own sound and style?

Oh easy, lots of UK artists for sure - Tom Misch especially is chords and guitar solos, Samm Henshaw has really impacted my writing and lastly Anderson Paak (who’s not UK), his groove and rhythm really resonates with me.

What’s been the biggest moment in your career so far?

Big things have popped up here and there but it was pretty cool when I got recognised by Indian Media as my grandparents thought I made it in life (my grandparents are Indian). 😹

What's the most unusual or unexpected source of inspiration you've drawn from when writing a song?

I would say food. It’s not unusual but definitely unexpected but to be honest I am a bit of foodie so what can you expect?

Can you share a hilarious or cringe-worthy moment from your early days as an artist?

When I released my first couple of songs in high school my album cover was of my school locker taken on my broken Android phone hahaha, I thought I was so cool but it was the most random album art.

What’s something that fans not might know about you?

People honestly know a lot about me because I share a lot on social media. But one thing would be that I am a lowkey fan of Hannah Montana (partly which inspired this track), I used to have to watch it as a kid as it was my sister’s favourite show.

If you could only listen to one album for the rest of your life, what would it be and why?

Samm Henshaw - Untidy Soul.

He is a pretty underrated artist but it always puts me in a good mood — it’s a new sound and I always find something new in the production and composition that intrigues me.

What's in the works for you in 2023?

2023 is gonna be more exciting with more collabs and shows! I’ve been tapping into the UK scene recently so you might see some cool UK collabs and things happening!
