Stan and the Australian Children’s Television Foundation (ACTF) have unveiled the trailer for their latest collaboration, the Stan Original Film Windcatcher.

Starring the multi-talented Jessica Mauboy alongside newcomer Lennox Monaghan, the film promises to be the feel-good hit of the year, set to premiere exclusively on Stan on March 28.

After a twelve-year hiatus from the big screen since her role in The Sapphires, Jessica Mauboy makes a triumphant return in Windcatcher, a heartwarming family feature set in a small country town.

The film introduces Lennox Monaghan as Percy Boy, alongside a stellar cast including Kelton Pell, Pia Miranda, Ngali Shaw, and Jessica McNamee. The trailer, released today, provides a glimpse into the magical and uplifting world of Windcatcher.

The plot revolves around an unlikely friendship between Percy Boy, newcomer Keithy Cobb, and the spirited Daisy Hawkins, who join forces to challenge a group of grade five bullies for the local school sports day title.

However, as Percy Boy trains with his friends, he discovers a supernatural ability passed down from his grandfather - the ability to see Lost Souls. The film explores themes of resilience, overcoming fears, and the strength that comes from unexpected friendships.

Written by Boyd Quakawoot and directed by Tanith Glynn-Maloney, the film boasts a talented ensemble cast, including Lisa Maza, Max Turner, Coco Greenstone, Kelton Pell, Pia Miranda, Ngali Shaw, Jessica McNamee, and Lisa Maza.
