Aussie actor Jacob Elordi is currently under investigation by NSW police following an alleged assault that took place outside a hotel in Sydney's east on Saturday. The incident involved a confrontation with KIIS FM employee Joshua Fox.

According to reports by the Sunday Telegraph, the altercation unfolded at the Clovelly Hotel in the city's eastern suburbs.

The Saltburn star, who recently returned to his home country ahead of the AACTA Awards on the Gold Coast, reportedly clashed with Fox after becoming frustrated with the line of questioning.

A statement from a NSW Police spokesperson confirmed the ongoing investigation: "Officers attached to Eastern Beaches Police Area Command are investigating after a man was allegedly assaulted outside a hotel in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs. Police were told about 3.30 pm on Saturday 3 February 2024, a 32-year-old man was allegedly assaulted by a 26-year-old man. The man did not sustain any injuries."

On Monday (Feb. 5), additional details emerged when audio from the alleged altercation played during The Kyle and Jackie O Show. In the recording, Fox approaches Elordi asking him to fill a jar of his bathwater for host Jackie O, referencing a controversial scene from Saltburn. The actor, clearly taken aback, requests Fox to refrain from filming.

“Excuse me Jacob,” Fox said in the audio. “I just want to say hey I’m from the Kyle and Jackie O Show.”

“Ah well done man, that’s cool,” Elordi replied.

“Really random but I want to give you this, Jackie wants a birthday present,” Fox said.

“Jacob Elordi’s bath water,” Elordi can be heard reading out.

“She’s a big fan of the movie,” Fox said.

“You’re kidding,” Elordi responds, before asking, “Are you filming?”

He adds: “Can you not man, please?”

The alleged altercation is said to have broken out after the audio cuts out.

Fox went to Waverley Police Station and made a report, but declined to give a formal statement. Detectives said CCTV of the incident has been obtained and will be reviewed as part of their investigation,

Entertainment reporter Peter Ford addressed the story on Seven’s Sunrise, shedding light on the circumstances. Ford claimed that Fox was sent on assignment to the location by Kyle and Jackie O and was already filming when he approached Elordi, adding potential complications for the actor's employment, especially concerning his working visas in the United States.

“Jacob was in a private situation in a pub with friends when he was … approached by a digital producer of Kyle and Jackie O’s show,” Ford explained.

“He was there on assignment. It wasn’t a chance meeting. When you send someone like Joshua out to do a job they have to come back with something, they are under pressure to get something – he was already filming when he approached Jacob, he didn’t introduce himself.”

“[He] clearly upset that the filming had already commenced, I don’t think he liked the question either … So it was a problem as to the way it was handled.”

He pointed out, “This could have massive implications for him in terms of his working visas in the United States. Jacob is at the moment the most talked about hot, young star in the world so he can’t afford to have anything go wrong.”
