As the years go by, it seems that Jackson Stell AKA BIG WILD is continually edging closer and closer to his final form. He's previously lent his musical prowess to releases on ODESZA's familial Foreign Family Collective, played some seminal stages across the globe at the likes of Coachella & Lollapalooza, a sellout show at the ethereal Red Rocks Amphitheatre and a little more closer to home, has supported Golden Features on his last Australian tour.
He's gearing up to release his debut LP on the 1st of February with Counter Records. Highly anticipated, this one comes to us in the form of Supedream, and we've already been given a split taste of what's to come from the record.
The first cut is 'Joypunks': an ephemeral cut of sunny sounds, defined by psychedelic, choppy vocals & a kaleidoscopic soundscape.

'Maker' follows suit with the pscyhedelia memo, but this one really makes use of the space inhabited by this tune, and through the airy nature of the falsetto vocals, it makes for something very reminiscent, but simultaneously new.
To get to know Big Wild a bit more ahead of the release, we got him to give us a bit of a peek into what his hometown of Portland, Oregon looks like to him.
Very solid taco spot with a lot of variety and friendly staff. The specials for the day are always creative and very tasty.
A great grocery store found in Portland and Seattle - very similar to Whole Foods but more local. It can be pricey, but the produce is always great and options for anything. If you're in town and want to cook your own meal, stop here.
A huge and beautiful swath of dense forest. Lots of trails and hiking to make you forget you’re in the city. I love coming here.
Great synth shop in town especially if you're into modular stuff. It's an audio nerd's playground.
Awesome Middle Eastern restaurant. Make sure to try the baba ghanoush and the beet salad.
