Dekmantel To Return To Melbourne In 2024

Flagship Amsterdam house and techno festival Dekmantel will return to Australia in March 2024, locking in four dates in Melbourne (Naarm).
The festival comes back to Melbourne on Thursday, 28 March and runs until Sunday, 31 March. Organisers announced the event’s return on Instagram yesterday, writing, “Australia, we’ve got news for you! Dekmantel is coming to Naarm on March 28–31, 2024. Save the dates, pre-register via the link in our bio and stay tuned for news—coming soon.”

While the dates have been announced, venues and artists for the Melbourne edition of Dekmantel haven’t been revealed yet. However, the festival has teamed up with local artist management and booking agency Wat Artists, so we can likely expect a strong homegrown contingent along with international heavy hitters.
Like the Amsterdam event, Melbourne’s Dekmantel may follow a similar format that allows punters to sleep at home/in nearby accommodations rather than become a camping event.
Dekmantel made its Australian debut in February 2016 at the Caulfield Racecourse. Berlin-based production duo Tale Of Us headlined the inaugural event, with Detroit's Omar S, New Yorker Mike Servito (debut Australian performance), Amsterdam-native San Proper, Berlin-based American Anthony Naples, Ukrainian DJ Vakula and Dutch collective Dekmantel Soundsystem also on the bill.

Dekmantel announced its line-up for Amsterdam earlier this year, with the festival occurring in August 2023. The line-up featured the likes of Shygirl, Gary Numan, Omar S, Blawan, Nala Sinephro, Stingray 313, Jeff Mills, Peach, Young Marco, Naone, Carista and many more.
On the Australian front, three of Australia's best made the line-up, including Roza Terenzi, C.FRIM and Kia.
According to a press release, the 2023 Amsterdam event was filled with “forward-facing visions and bold new crossovers, and unfold across a diverse array of ambient concerts, sonic explorations, high-energy DJ sets, radio broadcasts, panel discussions, film screenings and more.”
