Gold Coast via Townsville producer Atticus Beats supported Ryan Hemsworth and has over 45,000 plays on one of his tracks. 2015 will be his!
Gold Coast via Townsville producer ATTICUS BEATS (Lucas Reid)has been an interesting figure this year. After releasing a couple of original tracks, Maneki and Dookie, as well as a few remixes (ODESZA, AKOUO, PACES), it was his release of Decisions featuring Melbourne songstress WOODES that showed us what he was really made of.
Reverb-heavy, piano-driven, with trippy percussion and atmospheric synths, Decisions has accumulated over 45, 000 plays in as little as 2 months.
The track was released in a neat little remix package, where Lucas recruited the likes of Gold Coast alumni PACES, as well as JIA LIH, GOLIDELOCKS and BENJAMIN CASUAL to put their spin on the dreamy tune. The mixes have been bouncing all over the Internet, thus casting the ATTICUS BEATS net far and wide.

It's ATTICUS BEATS' ability to combine a multitude of influences and genres into his unique sound. In a somewhat overcrowded scene of producers pumping out dancefloor fillers, it's Lucas' refreshing take on the "future" sound that is what sets him apart.
Reid has already supported the likes of RYAN HEMSWORTH, ALISON WONDERLAND, EMOH INSTEAD and UV BOI, as well as scoring the opening spot for the Townsville leg of GROOVIN' THE MOO this year. If this is what he can do off just three original tracks, who knows what 2015 will hold for the 20 year old!
