Will Sparks has announced a run of world tour dates to take place this autumn, with the Melbourne DJ including Australia on his tour poster, albeit with the tour dates blacked out.

With four dates between 6 April and 30 April, Sparks’ Australian return might be perfect timing for an iconic music festival: Ultra Worldwide.

Ultra returns to two Australian cities this April, the inaugural Ultra Beach Gold Coast (Friday, 12 April) and Melbourne’s Flemington Racecourse on Saturday, 13 April.

In November, Ultra announced the 2024 headliners, pioneers ZeddArmin van BuurenCarl Cox (Melbourne exclusive) and Steve Aoki. Legends like Darren Styles and Brennan Heart will join them. Festival organisers hinted at a “phase two”, meaning that more acts would be announced. We’re hoping for Sparks, who has performed at the festival in the past.

Sparks will be touring the globe from February through to May, hitting New Zealand, Asia, Canada, the US, Australia, Europe and the UK. Keep your eyes on Sparks’ upcoming Australian tour dates, which we hope will be Ultra festival appearances and after-party shows.

The inaugural Ultra Beach Gold Coast is celebrating its beginnings as a single-stage event. At the same time, the Melbourne version will host the Main Stage, Resistance Stage and the UMF Radio Stage, while a fourth stage will be dedicated to hosting hardstyle music.

The 2023 edition of Ultra, in Melbourne only, hosted headliners Sub Zero Project, Darren Styles, prominent techno DJ Deborah De Luca, Australia’s own multi-platinum live-instrumentalist Timmy Trumpet and heavy hitter Hardwell, who performed in Australia for the first time since 2014.

Ultra officially landed in Melbourne in 2019, allowing Australian electronic music fans to experience Ultra first-hand. Since then, it's become a staple festival in the electronic community, with major acts such as Afrojack, Alesso, Oliver Heldens, and fan favourite Steve Aoki blessing the Aussie stage.
